FAQ
Hello! This is a collection of FAQs I thought might be useful for
people. If you have anything to add, correct or discuss please e-mail me - obviously
these are all up for discussion, we are a democratic organization and I've just
put these up as a template to work from. :-) And if you have any questions please
remind me to add them to the FAQ!

- History of the group - changes, additions? let me know!
- The group
was started on the Meetup.com website. Though the group had apparently met up
previous to Winter 2003/04, none of those people have made themselves know since
then (come back!) and our group has slowely accreted members month to month until
our current strong core group developed. This is when we obtained our most important
and mighty member, Sandy! ;-p Most of our members are bookcrossers that came to
meetup via bookcrossing, though we have met a couple of people along the way who
moved in the other direction. Following the choice by meetup in April 2005 to
begin charging its membership to meet, Bookcrossing as an organization made the
choice to stop promoting Meetup though its website. Many bookcrossing members,
including our group, chose to move their meeting groups elsewhere, in our case
to yahoo.
- What is Bookcrossing? Check out www.bookcrossing.com
and sign up! :-)
- How do I set up a wishlist? visit Cliff's BC Wishlist
site and read the FAQ there.
Then sign up, and start
wishing! You can post a link to your wishlist on your profile on bookcrossing,
either as a link or as a cool interactive frame, see code below (substitute with
your own wishlist URL into the code in the bolded positions).
- link to
your wishlist:
- <a href="http://cliff1976.com/bc/BCWish.asp?BCUser=jmcbeth">My
Wishlist</a> on Cliff's site
- cool interactive frame thingy that
allows you to scroll through your wishlist right on your profile page:
- <iframe
width="90%" src="http://cliff1976.com/BC/BCWishInline.asp?BCUser=jmcbeth"
frameborder="1"></iframe>
Yahoo
Group
- who are the moderators? There are a few of us - if you
want to be a moderator please post on the yahoo board and we'll probably do it
- providing you have been to meetings and aren't a spammer! All posts on the group
are moderated by moderators until you have attended a meeting, please remind us
if you are still being moderated after you have been to a meeting, we've just
forgotten if that is the case :-)
- A few suggestions for newbies:
If you are new to our group, please post to introduce yourself and give us an
idea of what kind of books you enjoy and what your bookcrossing user id if you
want to let us look at your bookshelf.
- A few suggestions for current
members: Send new members a welcoming e-mail! :-)
